Programs

Hope and Wish Foundation provides ongoing support to the disadvantaged, marginalised and at risk to prevent isolation, suffering and crisis.

Community Support Services

Community services work to advocate for and assist our clients to access appropriate levels of care. Our client base is largely from CALD and single parent communities. Support includes:

  • Parent Helper Program, providing support for our communities of parents of children living with a disability and/or behavioural/mental health challenges
  • Essential item and/or emergency food relief
  • Respectful support for members of our Muslim LGBTQIA+ community including direct funding to support rescue and respite programs
  • Elders respite programs including events and cultural opportunities
  • Youth respire programs including events and cultural opportunities
  • Australian Afghanistan veteran mental health support and advocacy

Culture, Arts & Language

Hope and Wish Foundation is the only Afghan-led foundation that delivers a comprehensive range of online language courses for Afghans and Australians regardless of ethnicity and/or religion. Our language courses are delivered in all of Afghanistan’s main languages, currently including Pashto, Dari and Hazaragi, delivered by strong female role models that demonstrate independence, intelligence and strong will.

Community Support Events

Our online communities are further supported through a range of real-time and real-life local events and forums that provide an opportunity to engage with culture through non-religious, non-political settings where all events promote cross-collaboration between cultures and promote a greater message of unity.

Advocacy

Demand for our advocacy service continues to exceed supply at both a domestic and international level where refugees and those on temporary visas seek help to advocate and/or make more effective representation on their behalf.

There are two streams to our advocacy work:

Local Advocacy includes working with and supporting our CALD communities including Parents, Youth, Elders and those on Temporary Protection and Safe Haven Enterprise Visa.

International Advocacy includes working with and supporting our international refugee population including:

✓ provide translation support for local proposers
✓ assist with interviews and administration tasks
✓ engage commercial and/or volunteer lawyers where needed to advise/support the application.
✓ find lost relatives in Australia

✓ advocacy planning including media, advocate partners, political leaders and more

International Education

Higher education scholarships for marginalised populations enables our refugee population that is seeking to migrate into Australia an opportunity to benefit from our liberal high-quality education sectors. This is achieved by enrolling international refugees into funded online studies at Australian universities.
