We are tremendously proud that our board of directors make up is entirely female. We lead with compassion and care, and work to ensure the communities we serve continue to benefit from our programs with the utmost respect and dignity.
Through our board we ensure regional and rural Australia, single parents. mental health advocates, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and our real refugee population in transit nations are able to share their wisdom and life experience to shape policy and programs, and ensure our foundations continuing vision.
Leadership
Mrs Jessie Zhouand is a Founding Director of Hope & Wish Foundation and provides strategic oversight across governance, compliance and operational management.
With extensive experience navigating complex regulatory frameworks and policy environments, Mrs Zhouand brings strong administrative and governance capability to the Foundation. She is also a registered Australian Migration Agent, holding a Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law and Practice, and has significant experience advising individuals and families on complex matters.
Ms Zhouand continues to oversee the Foundation’s compliance, reporting and strategic direction, ensuring it operates with integrity, transparency and strong regulatory alignment. She remains actively involved in community service initiatives and maintains a longstanding interest in regional Australia, mental health, and supporting socially and economically marginalised communities.
Ms. Razhieh Kashefi is originally from Kabul Afghanistan and has lived in Iran, later in the UAE, and is currently living in Turkey. Ms. Kashefi’s current lived experience ensures sustainable solutions for Afghan refugees in transit nations.
Ms. Kashefi’s wisdom and compassion capture the essence of real refuge and delivers meaningful and sustainable initiatives and programs.
Ms. Kashefi ensures our board mission remains true to its course, that our client’s needs are considered directly by those with real experience and wisdom and more importantly that those that have earnt the privilege of speech through their suffering and trauma are enabled to speak and shape policy that captures the essence of real refuge and more effective policy.
Ms. Kashefi was instrumental in the development of our partnership with Australian Universities where we offer Afghan Refugees in Transit Nations an opportunity to study online, increase their skills, gain confidence, and improve self-esteem through receiving high-quality Australian Education.
Ms Kashefi is fluent in five languages.
Mr Massud Zhouand is a founder of Hope and Wish Foundation who arrived in Australia as an Afghan refugee in the 1970’s and has had an extensive career in senior management positions within Consolidated Bearing Company, DuPont Australia, and Lager Engineering Australia.
Mr. Zhouand’s core expertise is managing complex projects with care and compassion whilst ensuring safety, and detail. Mr. Zhouand maintains operational responsibility for our foundation.
Mr. Zhouand co-founded Hope and Wish Foundation to ensure all those that are being spoken for are represented at the board level so that they can shape and influence more effective policy and community outcomes.
Mr. Zhouand holds a Master of Arts degree in (Social Ecology), a Master of Business Administration degree in (Applied Finance), an Advanced Diploma in Engineering in (Mechanical), Six Sigma certification to Green Belt Level, holds Associate Member of Institute of Engineers Australia (AIME) membership and is a registered NSW Justice of the Peace.
